How High Intensity Group Workouts Helped Me Lose 80 Pounds


In a "former life," I had the honor of being a three-time All-American football player at UC Davis, and I even had a taste of the NFL.

However, after retiring, I found myself in a bit of a pickle – overweight and out of shape.

I decided enough was enough. I made the commitment to turn my life around, but I faced a major hurdle – I had no idea where to begin.

So, I embarked on an incredible journey of experimentation, trying out various training methods.

One approach worked wonders for me: attending three group high-intensity workouts each week.

I kid you not, I could practically feel the fat melting away during those sessions!

Not only that, but these intense workouts were the key to smashing through weight loss plateaus that had held me back for far too long.

FVT summer Boot Camp workout series 2023

Here's how it works:

  • We'll meet once per week, on Saturday mornings, we'll meet from 9 to 945 am at our 1530 X Street personal training studio
  • We kick the program off on Saturday, June 3rd. We'll meet again on June 10th, June 17th, June 24th , July 1st, July 8th, and July 15th.
  • We'll do a combination of bodyweight exercises, conditioning drills, and different moves that will burn the most amount of calories, challenge you in a new way, and take your fitness to a new level!

When you sign up, I'll also include some bonus home workouts to do on your own, plus our special “28 day Drop-a-Size” meal planning guide, so that you’d have everything you need to shed fat fast!

This special program is open to both existing clients who want to add something extra on to their existing workout plan, and also for new clients wanting to give our workouts a try.

Private training at our studio would cost you around $60-70 per session, typically in the range of $500-$700 per month. Small group personal training at our studio would cost you around $35-40 per session, typically in the range of $300-$400 per month.

But we wanted to make this program affordable for as many people as possible. We know the pandemic has been tough, and this is our way of opening things up and giving back to the community.

QUESTION: You’re thinking about doing it for 6 or so weeks of Saturdays?

ANSWER: We are going to do a total of 7 sessions, meeting from 9 - 945 on Saturday mornings, starting June 3rd 2023.

Dates we will meet for this program are:

  • June 3rd
  • June 10th
  • June 17th
  • June 24th
  • July 1st
  • July 8th
  • July 15th

QUESTION: Hi Forest, what time are you thinking about doing this?

ANSWER: We will be meeting from 9 - 945 am Saturday mornings.

QUESTION: What if I miss a session, how can we make it up?

ANSWER: We've "built that in" to the pricing. Originally, we were actually going to make this a 6 week program, but as we know that people travel in the summer and have other things potentially going on, we decided to make it 7 weeks, and keep the price the same.

If you make all 7 sessions, the session rate works out to $14.14. If you make 6, the session rate works out to $16.50. If you make 5, it works out to $19.80. If you know you'll have to miss more than two of the workouts, it might be best to contact us and take a look at a different program that might fit your schedule a bit better.
