SPEAKER 5: Dan Richie
Dr. Dan Ritchie started his fitness career at Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in Fitness and Sports Medicine and then spent a year as a graduate assistant coaching Division 1 athletes. He completed his master’s degree in Health & Physical Education at the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater, where he won the 2002 Thesis of the Year. Then Dan continued as a Lynn Fellow at Purdue University, completing his PhD in Kinesiology with a minor in Gerontology.
Since 2007 Dan has owned and operated Miracles Fitness in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he and his staff have trained over 2000 clients. With over 20 years of experience, he has extensive knowledge on training the mature adult market and has equipped people in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond to achieve their goals and enhance their functional longevity. Dan was the 2014 PFP Trainer of the Year, and then shortly after he and Dr. Cody Sipe co-founded the FUNCTIONAL AGING Institute.
Dan is a sought-after expert and speaker at national and international events on topics like balance for older adults, personal training business development, the global aging phenomenon, and FUNCTIONAL AGING training models. He’s routinely interviewed for podcasts, webinars, and on-online education summits. Dan lives in West Lafayette with his wife and five kids.
SPEAKER 6: Nick Nilsson
Nick Nilsson is known as the “Mad Scientist of Muscle” for good reason. An expert in kinesiology, physiology and anatomy, Nick creates unconventional, science-based training methods to achieve startling, rapid improvements in people in muscle mass, strength and fat loss. Nick has been featured in a number of major bodybuilding magazines, including Ironman and Muscle & Fitness. When conventional training lets you down, this is how you kickstart your results again.
SPEAKER 7: Jim Jarvis
James Jarvis, current owner of The Forge Strength Gym in Kansas City, MO. Former competitive body builder he stepped on stage for the first time at 37 yrs old. After bodybuilding Jim took up powerlifting at 40, along the way he set a masters record in full power and continued to compete for the next 8 years until a stroke and subsequent heart attack side lined his competitive carrier. Now, at 51 he continues to train himself and others with the lessons learned through the highs and lows of his time as a strength athlete.
SPEAKER 8: Geoff Neupert
Geoff Neupert has been training people from all walks of life since 1993.
He’s been training his clients and himself with kettlebells since 2002 and has been called by some, a “Kettlebell OG.” He was a Master Instructor with two different kettlebell instructor certifications - the RKC (Russian Kettlebell Challenge) and StrongFirst. He was also the StrongFirst Education Manager from 2013-2014.
He has travelled the world teaching others how to become kettlebell instructors and has taught his own intermediate and advanced Kettlbell Burn, Kettlebell Muscle, and Kettlebell STRONG! kettlebell workshops.
He’s published books like Kettlebell Muscle, training courses like THE BIG 6 and Kettlebell STRONG!, and popular kettlebell workout programs like Kettlebell Burn, Kettlebell EXPRESS!, and Kettlebell Burn EXTREME!...
Geoff is the co-creator with his wife Courtney, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, of "The P3 Protocol," a movement restoration system that helps men and women over 30 move like kids again. He was also the co-creator of Original Strength Systems, another movement restoration company, and taught that system all over the world too.
Geoff is a former Division 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach at Rutgers University where he trained athletes from 26 different teams. He also is a former National Qualifier and State Champion in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting.
Speaker 9: Matt Hill
Matt Hill is the owner of the Systema Academy in Wiltshire in the UK. He started training in the martial arts in 1987 and by 1991 was living as a full time apprentice to the famous Aikido teacher Morihiro Saito Sensei in Japan where he lived for 2 years.
Matt then underwent Army Officer training at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst commissioning into the Parachute Regiment where he served for six years leaving in the rank of Captain.
Matt began studying Systema in 2003 and has been a full time Instructor since 2014. Matt teaches daily at his Academy and delivers seminars in the UK, Europe and worldwide. He has had 3 books published on Systema and has a library of online content.
Matt also leads jungle expeditions blending military patrolling skills with timeless native skills to create unique adventures. The next trip is to Cambodia in March 2025.
Matt is committed to sharing the gift of Systema with as many people as possible.
Speaker 10: Aaron Hines
Aaron Hines is a transformative fitness expert and inspirational mentor based in Bellevue, a suburb of Nashville, Tennessee. With a background in Health and Human Performance from Lambuth University and advanced studies at the University of Tennessee at Martin and Florida State University, Aaron has established a renowned fitness facility in Brentwood, Tennessee. He was recognized as one of Nashville's Top Personal Trainers in 2020 and has been featured in Franklin Lifestyle Magazine. Jon Haas is the founder of Warrior Fitness Training Systems and an expert in both martial arts and physical conditioning. With a background as a 9th dan Black Belt in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, a Level 2 Certified Underground Strength Coach, and a certified Personal Trainer, Jon has spent more than 30 years reverse-engineering elite human performance. His book, 'Warrior Fitness: Conditioning for Martial Arts,' and his innovative training programs have transformed thousands of lives across the globe, helping people achieve superior strength, flexibility, and pain-free living. Jon's approach is not just about building muscle, but fostering a holistic and powerful warrior lifestyle.
Speaker 12: Josh Cate
Josh Cate is a seasoned martial artist with 35 years of training experience and an impressive list of accolades. He holds black belts in Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Shingitai Jiu-Jitsu, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Josh has proven his skills in competition, earning a bronze medal at the IBJJF U.S. Nationals, becoming a NAGA national champion, and claiming the title of Triple F Threat Lightweight MMA champion.
As a retired professional MMA fighter and former high school wrestling coach, Josh brings a wealth of practical experience to his training. He currently owns and operates an MMA gym, where he continues to share his expertise with others.
Josh's academic background is equally impressive, holding a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Sport Psychology and Motor Behavior from the University of Tennessee. This unique combination of practical experience and academic knowledge makes Josh an invaluable resource for athletes looking to optimize their performance both physically and mentally.
Speaker 13: Dr. Michael T. Nelson
Mike T. Nelson, PhD, MSME, CSCS, CISSN, is a research fanatic who specializes in metabolic flexibility and heart rate variability, as well as an online trainer, adjunct professor, Associate Professor at the Carrick Institute, presenter, creator of the Flex Diet Cert, kiteboarder, and (somewhat incongruously) heavy-metal enthusiast. He has a PhD in Exercise Physiology, and a MS in Mechanical Engineering (biomechanics). The techniques he's developed, and the results Mike gets for his clients have been featured in international magazines, in scientific publications, and on websites across the globe. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, lifting odd objects, reading research, and kiteboarding as much as possible.
